Isotopes Earn Late 4-3 Win
The Albuquerque Isotopes got a hard-earned win over the El Paso Chihuahuas, 4-3, in 16 innings. Kip Fletcher provided some offensive muscle for Albuquerque. He was 5 for 7 with a double and 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The winner in relief was Derek Akers. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. The Isotopes, at 20-21, sit in second place in the American Conference South Division.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Oliver Acevedo? The 23-year old center fielder Acevedo stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 16th inning to put Albuquerque up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 7, including 1 double and 1 single.
