Buffalo pitcher Kevin Hunt did his part in helping his team beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Hunt, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Damion Carroll earned the save for Buffalo, his 1st.

The Bisons got a big at-bat from catcher Erick Castillo. For the game, Castillo was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Buffalo a 4-2 lead.

"We did a lot of things right," said Hunt.
