The Rochester Red Wings had to overcome a good performance from Lehigh Valley pitcher Matt Andriese to claim a 3-2 win at Frontier Field. Andriese went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Kevin Jackson picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 2-0. The loss drops Lehigh Valley to 3-3.
Ron Walker was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Rochester. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Matt Andriese. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"Feels good to get the job done," Walker said after the game.
