River Cats Win, Now 29-15
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Sacramento River Cats and the Albuquerque Isotopes. Sacramento won it, 2-1. Sacramento starter Eddie Sherman was in command. Sherman got the win, improving to 8-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Sacramento raised its record to 29-15 with the win.
Sacramento used a well-timed hit by Juan Aragón to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the River Cats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Both teams played hard," said Sacramento manager Carmelo Martinez.
