The Round Rock Express topped the Salt Lake Bees, 9-7, in American Conference action at Smith's Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Round Rock pitcher Jake Thomas. Enyerbeth Lugo sewed up the save, his 11th. The Express now have a record of 26-22.
The Express had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 9-2, Round Rock, with one out. Salt Lake, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Ken Smith dug in at the plate, but on a full count slider, he struck out.
