Bees Win at Omaha, 7-4
|
Omaha center fielder Jimmy Reeves had a good game, even if his team did not. The Storm Chasers dropped a 7-4 decision to Salt Lake at Werner Park. Reeves was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mauro Salazar earned the win. Rob Armstrong, who is tied for 10th in the AC with a 7.9 K/9 rate, took the loss for Omaha. Salt Lake now has a record of 29-20 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Don Dickerson? The Salt Lake designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bees on top, 7-4. For the game, Dickerson had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Salt Lake manager Tom Prince was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
