Rainiers Need Extra Frames to Get Past River Cats
Sacramento left fielder Andy King had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. King went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Tacoma beat the River Cats, 4-3, in 11 innings. Doug Bannatyne, who leads the PC in saves with 18, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-3. The Pacific Conference North Division-leading Rainiers have a record of 35-17.

Tacoma got a clutch hit from Bryan Emery. The right fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Sacramento manager Carlos Corporan.
