Late Heroics Net River Cats 7-6 Win
|
Raley Field was host to some intense drama.
Mario Santiago was a major contributor to the 7-6 Sacramento win over El Paso. The River Cats designated hitter was 4-6 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The River Cats have an impressive 33-20 record.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Sacramento shortstop Luis Zúñiga, facing Don Scott, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the River Cats the 7-6 win.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Santiago said in his postgame press conference.
