Rainiers Slap 12-6 Loss on Salt Lake
The Tacoma Rainiers locked up a win at Cheney Stadium, knocking off the Salt Lake Bees, 12-6. On the mound for Tacoma was right-hander Juan Luna. He played a major role in the triumph. The Rainiers go to 21-32 with the win.

The Rainiers got a big hit from third baseman Travis Nelligan. Facing Salt Lake pitcher Tony Sargent in the bottom of the fifth, Nelligan pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 3rd home run of the season put the Rainiers ahead, 10-0.

"We maximized our offense today," said Tacoma skipper Mario Garza. "That makes everyone's life easier."
