Rainiers Get Hard-Earned Win
Las Vegas got a terrific performance from pitcher Ken Mason, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tacoma Rainiers. Tacoma won the Cheney Stadium contest, 4-3. Mason threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jeremiah MacGregor came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. The setback makes Las Vegas 31-25.

Tacoma went up, 4-3, on Travis Nelligan's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Nelligan hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Las Vegas pitcher Stan Wilson shaking his head.

"I like what I saw today," said Tacoma manager Mario Garza, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
