The Sacramento River Cats converted a terrific effort from starter Jorge Arroyo into a win over the El Paso Chihuahuas at Raley Field. The River Cats won the game by a final score of 3-2. In 8 innings, Arroyo surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Chris Quirke was credited with the save for Sacramento, his 8th of the season.
The River Cats got a big at-bat from third baseman Ken Evans. For the game, Evans was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Sacramento a 3-2 lead.
