The Salt Lake Bees besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Tacoma third baseman Julio De La Cruz by beating the Rainiers, 8-6, at Cheney Stadium. De La Cruz was 5-6 with 2 doubles, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Salt Lake is now 36-23, while Tacoma is 30-29.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kenny Polanco? The Salt Lake shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Bees on top, 4-3. For the game, Polanco had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Polanco.
