Iowa wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Mariano Ortega, falling to the Round Rock Express, 2-1. Ortega threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Round Rock pitcher Chris Watts got the win, upping his record to 5-5. Mariano Ortega got the loss. Chris Wynn, credited with the save, is now 15 for 17 in save opportunities.

Luis Carpio had a direct impact on the outcome. Carpio contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Round Rock up, 2-0.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Round Rock manager Ben Petrick.

With the victory, the Express upped their record to 33-27.
