Miller Magnificent in 3-0 Albuquerque Triumph
|
All went well for Steve Miller of the Albuquerque Isotopes as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 3-0, over the Oklahoma City Dodgers, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Miller on the day.
"Steve's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Isotopes manager Charlie Mitchell. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Albuquerque left-hander rang up 8 and surrendered 4 walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Dodgers manager Mitch Moreland. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
This year, Miller has gone 7-5 with an ERA of 2.49 and has 96 strikeouts in 101.1 innings.
