In a low-scoring contest between the Las Vegas 51s and the El Paso Chihuahuas, Rudy Alexander, who is tied for 3rd in the PC in complete games with 1, proved to be the difference. The Las Vegas right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 51s win. Stan Wilson collected save number 3. The second-place 51s have won 4 in a row.

Though he did not get the decision, Alexander did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 8 innings, until Las Vegas eventually rallied past the Chihuahuas.

Las Vegas manager Nelson Paulino called it "a darn good win."
