River Cats Earn Win with Late Rally
The Sacramento River Cats knocked off the Reno Aces, 4-3, in Pacific Conference action at Raley Field. Sacramento pitcher and Reading, Pennsylvania, native Octávio Venegas had an outstanding performance. The Aces, at 18-45, have lost 4 straight games.

Had Anastasio Sánchez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sánchez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the River Cats.

Reno manager Ruben Niebla said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
