With catcher Tony Núñez leading the charge, the Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Iowa Cubs, 8-1, at Principal Park. Núñez belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Ron Barr went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 0. With the win, he ups his record to 1-1 this season. Albuquerque now sits at 30-33, while Iowa falls to 29-35.

With Albuquerque leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Núñez hit a fastball from Joe Webb for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Isotopes ahead, 3-0.
