Fresno got a valiant performance from pitcher Geoff Johnson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Las Vegas 51s. Las Vegas won the game, 3-2. Johnson threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The loss makes Fresno 37-27.
Las Vegas got a clutch hit from Ken Lawson. The pinch hitter launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
"That game was intense," Lawson said.
