The Iowa Cubs got a strong performance from pitcher Jon Cameron, who stymied the Omaha offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Principal Park. In 6 innings, Cameron surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Sergio García, credited with the save, is now 15 for 19 in save opportunities.
Ron Knapp was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Iowa. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Ken Walker. It was his 50th hit of the season.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Cameron.
Iowa has a record of 28-36, placing them last in the American Conference North Division.
