Grizzlies Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Chihuahuas, 12-7
Despite a great performance by El Paso first baseman Dave Snyder, the Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Chihuahuas by the score of 12-7 at Chukchansi Park. Snyder was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Fresno reliever Kent Emanuel got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Clint Brandt was tagged with the loss. The Pacific Conference South Division-leading Grizzlies are 40-25.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Steve McGuire was at the plate when Fresno scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Grizzlies to go in front, 8-7.

"We took home the win," said McGuire. "What's not to like?"
