Storm Chasers Come Back Late to Top Cubs, 5-2
|
Iowa got a valiant performance from pitcher José Salinas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers. Omaha won the game, 5-2. Salinas threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Steve Wilson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Sergio García was tagged with the loss. Shigochiyo Ohayashi picked up his 2nd save of the season.
Omaha used a timely hit from Dwayne Carlisle to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Storm Chasers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Carlisle.
The Storm Chasers move to 32-35 with the win, while the Cubs drop to 32-36.
