Salt Lake Bees starter Juan Mercado kept the Reno Aces hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Salt Lake has 3 straight wins, Reno 3 straight losses.

Luis Costaneda had a big bases-clearing double for the Bees in the bottom of the third inning. With Salt Lake leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Shaw and swatted a double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bees ahead, 5-0.

Costaneda attributed the win to his team's "determination."
