The Buffalo Bisons went home winners at Coca-Cola Field, thanks in large part to starter Pierce Johnson. Johnson stifled the Rochester Red Wings, enabling Buffalo to grab the 4-1 win. The save was Damion Carroll's, his 2nd. The loss drops Rochester to 3-6.

In the bottom of the fifth, António Chávez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Buffalo second baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Bisons in front, 4-1.

"Nothing fazes Pierce," said Buffalo manager Drew Saylor.
