Tacoma first baseman Juan Cháves played a vital role in his team's 10-2 conquest of El Paso. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Tacoma. The winning pitcher was Jesús Estrada. He's now 8-2. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Rainiers. The save was credited to Joe Keller, his 1st.

Bryan Emery had a big 2-run double for the Rainiers in the bottom of the first inning. With Tacoma trailing 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Meza and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rainiers ahead, 3-2.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Cháves after the game.

With the win, Tacoma raised its record to 44-29.
