A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Tacoma Rainiers and Salt Lake Bees.

The Tacoma Rainiers topped the Salt Lake Bees, 8-5, with center fielder Eric Caine playing a big role. Caine went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Rainiers in the win. Earning his 2nd save of the year was António Cruz.

Bobby Howell, who is tied for 3rd in the PC in runs scored with 41, helped out the Tacoma cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 5.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Howell told the Tacoma Daily News.

The second-place Bees dropped to 43-30.
