Redbirds Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
Isotopes Park was the site of a tense game between the Memphis Redbirds and Albuquerque Isotopes.
Albuquerque turned a good effort from starter Gene Blevins into a win over the Memphis Redbirds at Isotopes Park. The Isotopes won the game, 3-1. Albuquerque, at 33-41, holds down last place in the American Conference South Division.
Franklin Reyes had a big run-scoring double for the Isotopes in the bottom of the third inning. With Albuquerque leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Elvis Metcalf, who is tied for 10th in the AC in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 2-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Blevins.
