In a low-scoring tilt between the Reno Aces and the Tacoma Rainiers, Stephen Gonsalves, who leads the PC in innings pitched with 118.1, was the difference-maker. The Reno left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Gonsalves got the win, improving to 8-8. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Toby White earned the save, his 3rd.
Augusto Aguilar, who is tied for 8th in the PC in bases on balls with 34, had a direct impact on the outcome. Aguilar contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Reno up, 3-2.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Aces manager Ruben Niebla. "This one was nice to get."
The third-place Rainiers now sit at 40-37.
