Derek Akers pitched a gem to lead Albuquerque to victory over the Round Rock Express, 8-0. The Isotopes bumped their record to 40-36 with this latest triumph.

Albuquerque starter Derek Akers was exceptional. The 6-foot-0 right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8.1 innings of work.

"Derek just settled in and did what he does," said Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo.
