The Iowa Cubs picked up a win at Dell Diamond, knocking off the Round Rock Express, 2-1. Starting pitcher Dave Davis played a key role in the triumph. Sergio García came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-3. Iowa is now 38-42, Round Rock 43-36.

Sergio Martínez had a direct impact on the outcome. Martínez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Iowa up, 2-1.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Cubs manager Gera Alvarez.
