Phil Ferris was a vital contributor to the 7-5 Iowa victory over Memphis. The Cubs left fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. At 41-45, Iowa is in third place in the American Conference North Division.

Ferris had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 changeup from Jorge Lima, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Cubs a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Ferris.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Iowa manager Gera Alvarez.
