Zephyrs Come Back Late to Top Express, 5-1
The rain did not keep New Orleans and Round Rock from finishing their game.

The Round Rock Express could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jake Thomas into a win. Instead, the New Orleans Zephyrs prevailed, 5-1. Thomas threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. With the win, the Zephyrs have a record of 40-45.

New Orleans used the timely hitting of Jeff Abbott to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Zephyrs on top, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said New Orleans manager Jody Reed. "It's usually not just one thing."
