The Erie SeaWolves went home winners at People's Natural Gas Field, thanks in large part to starter Curt Nance. Nance stifled the Altoona Curve, enabling Erie to grab the 8-1 win. Nance picked up the win for Erie, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The loss drops Altoona to 5-2.

In the top of the fourth, Luis Provolone delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Erie left fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the SeaWolves in front, 8-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Erie skipper Brad Ausmus.
