Cubs Stumble, Fall to Rainiers, 6-3
|
Rainiers third baseman Steve Farrar left his mark on his team's 6-3 win over the Iowa Cubs. Farrar, who is tied for 10th in the PC in home runs with 8, was 3-4 with 3 singles for Tacoma in the contest. Augusto Díaz got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Tacoma is now 45-59, Iowa 49-55.
Tacoma used a well-timed hit by Rubén Delaunay to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rainiers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Steve is still learning," said Rainiers manager Mario Garza. "The sky's the limit for him."
