Mike Morris, who is tied for 5th in the AC with a 1.27 WHIP, imposed his will on the Rainiers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Iowa triumph. Sergio García earned his 8th save in 16 chances. Iowa sits in third place in the American Conference North Division at 50-55.

Jon Jackson had a big 2-run double for the Cubs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Iowa leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Greg Page and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cubs ahead, 4-1.

"Mike was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Iowa manager Gera Alvarez.
