The Las Vegas 51s turned back the Nashville Sounds, 10-9, at Cashman Field. Pat Flores, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Mitch Smith picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-4. Joe Warren, who is tied for 7th in the AC in holds with 6, was tagged with the loss. Las Vegas leads the Pacific Conference South Division by 4½ games.

Stan Martin was the walk-off hero for Las Vegas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the 51s right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Flores.
