The Salt Lake Bees trumped the New Orleans Zephyrs, 20-8, at Smith's Ballpark. Salt Lake center fielder Eric Scales was terrific. He belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The winner in relief was Tony Sargent. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-3. With the win over New Orleans, the Bees improved to 46-63.

With Salt Lake leading 2-1 in the bottom of the first, Scales hit a curveball from Raquel Quental for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Bees ahead, 5-1.

"It was our day today," Scales told the Salt Lake Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
