Albuquerque right fielder Orlando Sánchez was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Reno Aces. He went 2 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Isotopes. Gene Blevins picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-2. Ken Shaw, who is tied for 8th in the PC in innings pitched with 135.0, was tagged with the loss. Billy Bell got credit for the save for Albuquerque. It was his 4th of the year.

Sánchez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from Ken Shaw, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Isotopes a 4-3 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Sánchez.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Sánchez.

Albuquerque, at 53-59, sits in last place in the American Conference South Division.
