Nashville wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Kyle Ryan, falling to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 3-1. Ryan threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Ken Greenwood picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Kyle Ryan suffered the loss. Víctor González was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 19 save opportunities.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Luis Sánchez? The 23-year old shortstop Sánchez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Colorado Springs up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I really like what we did out there today," Sánchez said after the game.
By defeating Nashville, the last-place Sky Sox improved to 49-63.
