Storm Chasers Pin 2-0 Loss on Albuquerque
|
In a tight affair between the Omaha Storm Chasers and the Albuquerque Isotopes, pitcher Thom Mercer was in the zone. The Omaha right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-0. Mercer, the winner, moves to 6-8. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Steve Wilson picked up the save for Omaha, his 12th of the year.
Ed Barton had a direct impact on the outcome. Barton contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Omaha up, 2-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Albuquerque skipper Matt Merullo, "and it cost us."
Omaha now sits at 64-65, while Albuquerque falls to 60-69.
