Drew Smyly, who is tied for 10th in the AC in strikeouts with 135, propelled his team to victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers. The final score was 6-4, Nashville. The win went to Ron Sullivan in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Aurelio Jiménez took the loss. The American Conference North Division-leading Sounds are 83-57.

Nashville took a 6-4 lead on Michael Conforto's 19th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Conforto hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Omaha pitcher Aurelio Jiménez visibly frustrated.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Smyly told the Nashville Chronicle.
