RubberDucks Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
|
The Binghamton Mets could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Augusto Rodríguez into a win. Instead, the Akron RubberDucks prevailed, 4-3. Rodríguez threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Gabriel Lima snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Chad Cochrane notched his 3rd save of the season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Enéas Banha? The 26-year old second baseman Banha stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Akron up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Banha.
Akron goes to 5-3 with the win.
