The Charlotte Knights in 10 innings defeated the Gwinnett Firebirds, 2-1. Starting pitcher Tim Brown was a big part of his team's success. Charlotte pitcher Jimmy Stanley earned the win, hiking his record to 1-3. Tynan Ford suffered the loss. The third-place Knights have won 6 straight games.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Firebirds allowed the Knights to score the winning run.

"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Gwinnett manager Jason Bourgeois.
