Chiefs Handle Scranton WB, Snag 4-2 Win
|
Syracuse picked up a win at NBT Bank Stadium, bumping off the Scranton WB RailRiders, 4-2. Pitcher Ismael García was a major reason the Chiefs emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was García, now 4-9. He tossed 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Edgardo González earned the save, his 12th, for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Alex Myers. For the game, Myers was 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Syracuse a 2-0 lead.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Myers after the game.
Scranton WB, at 41-44, has lost 5 straight.
