Bulls Deal Tides 6-1 Loss
The Durham Bulls got a marvelous performance from pitcher Chad Maynard. The right-hander kept the Norfolk offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-1 Durham victory at Harbor Park. The winning pitcher was Maynard, now 3-8. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. The Bulls raised their record to 34-52.

Durham won the game in part because of Sam Bove. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bulls ahead, 2-0. For the game, Bove had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Bove.
