Chiefs Win Nail-Biter
The Syracuse Chiefs clipped the Buffalo Bisons, 6-5, in 12 innings at Coca-Cola Field. The standout performance belonged to Syracuse pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Héctor Pérez. Syracuse reliever Thom Stevens picked up the win, raising his record to 4-8. Abel Haney was tagged with the loss. Eury De La Rosa locked down his 1st save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dave Drew? The 27-year old second baseman Drew stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Syracuse up, 6-5. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Dave Anderson, the Syracuse skipper. "This one tested us."

Today's win puts Syracuse at 38-51, while Buffalo falls to 47-42.
