Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Victory Field.
The exploits of catcher Jose Rivas helped the Indianapolis Arrows defeat the Toledo Mud Hens, 5-2. Rivas went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Indianapolis reliever Antonio Senzatela picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. António Peña was saddled with the loss.
Rivas had a timely hit for Indianapolis in the bottom of the sixth. With Indianapolis trailing 1-0, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 3-1, Indianapolis.
Rivas told a Indianapolis Today reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
With the win, Indianapolis has a record of 44-47. Toledo falls to 45-46.
