Clippers Come Up Short at Charlotte, 5-4
The Charlotte Knights defeated the Columbus Clippers, 5-4, at BB&T Stadium. Bob Charles, who is tied for 6th in the IL with a .852 OPS, was a standout performer for Charlotte. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. Charlotte starter Héctor Menjivar was credited with the win after throwing 111 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 9-3. The win for the Knights raised their record to 53-47.

Kevin Perry helped out the Charlotte cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
