Oscar Willis had a strong outing for the Gwinnett Firebirds against the Buffalo Bisons at Coolray Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Tynan Ford was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 22 save opportunities. The first-place Firebirds, at 64-39, now lead their division by 9 games.

The Firebirds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Artie Bailey. For the game, Bailey went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Gwinnett a 2-1 lead.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Bailey.
