The Norfolk Tides stopped the Syracuse Chiefs, 4-3, behind an impressive performance from Vic Sutton. The former first round draft pick made life miserable for Syracuse pitching. He went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Del Klein earned the save for Norfolk, his 5th of the year. The win hiked the Norfolk record to 59-49.

Sutton had a key at-bat for Norfolk in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and gave Norfolk an early 1-0 lead.

"This was a total team effort," said Sutton.
