Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Chiefs beat the IronPigs.

The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 7-2, at NBT Bank Stadium. Syracuse catcher Cisco Barajas had the hot bat. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Hugh Lemley went 6 innings for Syracuse to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record improves to 8-11.

With Syracuse trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Barajas hit a slider from Luis Gil for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 3-2.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Barajas.

The setback makes Lehigh Valley 63-50.
